Mortgage Application Volume Slips as Refis Slow
Mortgage application volume fell 12.6 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis for the week ending February 27, the MBA reported today.
On an unadjusted basis, the home loan app index decreased two percent from the previous week and was off 6.7 percent compared with the same week a year ago.

Refinance Activity Boosts Mortgage Application Volume
Just one week after sliding nearly 25 percent, mortgage application volume shot sharply higher, according to the latest survey from the MBA.
On a seasonally adjusted basis, home loan apps increased a whopping 45.7 percent for the week ending February 13.
On an unadjusted basis, apps jumped 47.7 percent compared to one week earlier, and were up 5.2 percent compared to the same week a year ago.

Mortgage Application Volume Cools After Surge
After previously doubling week-to-week, mortgage application volume cooled slightly, the MBA said today.
Home loan apps dipped 7.1 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis for the week ending December 5, but still increased 32.7 percent on an unadjusted basis compared to the holiday-shortened Thanksgiving week.

Mortgage Fraud Up Despite Flagging Application Volume
Mortgage fraud increased 45 percent from a year ago despite a big drop in loan application volume, the Mortgage Asset Research Institute reported today.
Once again, Florida led the nation in mortgage fraud during the second quarter, followed by California and Illinois.
Fraud was most rampant in the metropolitan areas of Miami and Tampa, Los Angeles and San Francisco, and Chicago and Rockford.
